Our weekend

The weekend starts on Saturday. We got up and got dressed to go to the Train Show. It was at the Greenbo Lake State Park. We saw lots of trains there. I even got to ride on a small train with my daddy and Brody. It was an old time steam engine with lots of steam coming out of his funnel. After we rode the train, we went to see the little ones. We bought lots of stuff. We bought an old Lionel track uncoupler and we took it home. We also got a wooden Thomas Train Recycling Cars. My mommy bought me a train eraser for my pencil! Daddy bought two new transformers for my HO scale train. Then we went home.

On Sunday, it was sunny and warm and we had a great day. When Brody got up from his nap, we went over by Cave Run Lake to feed the ducks. We fed them bread and popcorn.

On Monday we have to go to school :-(

Black Holes

Black Holes are big holes that are black. Nothing can escape it, even light! Black Holes are outside of our Milky Way. Black Holes can suck up anything in its way. Scientists don't know what is at the end of a Black Hole. Some believe that Black Holes bring you to alien planets or take you to another dimension. It can take you to the future or the past or B.C. Black Holes are scary.

A Worm Hole is a thing that worms could travel through. You would need a big worm, but that couldn't be real. Worm Holes are a real thing in space. First you go through them, then "BOP" you are out the other end. Then you go back in and "POP" you are out of the Worm Hole. Worm Holes are different from Black Holes because they go through a tube thing through a small thing and you go out an end that looks like a trumpet.

Spiral Galaxies
Spiral Galaxies are different from Black Holes. Only Spiral Galaxies spin around and Black Holes only suck like a vaccuum cleaner. You can get lost in a Spiral Galaxy. They are made of gas and dust and our Milky Way is a Spiral Galaxy. The most spectacular galaxies are Spiral. They spin around like giant whirlpools, spreading their stars into trailing arms. The oldest stars end up in a dense central hub. The sprial arms contain young stars, pink neublas, and gas and dust. Spiral Galaxies are disk shape so they appear flat if we look at them from the side. Spiral Galaxies are cool!

I like space stuff because it's awesome and incredible. I have a telescope that I won from Cub Scouts from selling popcorn. I use my telescope to see things far away. We can only use my telescope when the weather is nice and there are no clouds in the night sky. My favorite thing to look at in the telescope is the moon. It has lots of craters, Sea of Crises, Sea of Serenity, Sea of Nectar. It even has a footprint on it from an astronaut. Sometimes there is a solar eclipse. After first contact it takes about an hour for the moon to completly cover the sun. Day turns into night. Stars and planets appear.

Mercury, Venus, earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are the planets.

These planets have moons:
Jupiter has 36 moons, Earth has 1 moon, Pluto has 1 moon (Charon), Saturn, Uranus, Mars has 2 moons, Neptune 8 moons (Triton is the largest). I don't think Mercury and Venus have moons.

I hope you don't get into any dangerous places folks. And remember, don't try this at home!

Extreme Weather Blog

Tornados:
Tornados are just swirling clouds. But they can swirl around fast like a car. Sometimes torados are called twisters. Twisters can move fast like a car like the story of the Wizard of Oz. Some of these tornados end up in a place called Tornado Alley. Tornado Alley is in the United States. A state called Florida has lots of tornados. They end in October.

Hurricanes:
Hurricanes are the biggest storms. They can be even seen from space. The center of a hurricane is called the eye. Some people call it the eye of the storm. Hurricanes are located over water. (WATERSPOUTS) Water spouts are not tornados. They are shoots that swirl up on water. They suck up fish and frogs from the water and it takes them inside the spout and when it's over it might leave fish on the ground and frogs on the roof of a house!

Thunderstorms and Lightning:
Thunderstorms shoot lightning during a storm in the summer. Lightning is the sound of explosions. It makes a loud sound called thunder. That's why they are called thunderstorms.

Earthquakes
Earthquakes are vibrations that a volcano makes when it errupts. And the plates could turn on the earth. It's called shifting plates. When one plate moves against another, they rub. Like when you wash hands. Earthquakes can make cars crash, trucks tip over and buildings tip over. Or they could fall apart.

Volcanos:
A volcano is a mountain with a giant hole inside that squirts lava out of the top. The magma chamber is located in the heart of a volcano. It's where the lava is stored.

Snowstorms:
Snowstorms are cold storms that blow snow everywhere. They are also called blizzards. When a blizzard blows so much snow on your doorstep, you are then snowbound. It's when you can't get out of your house.

If you are caught in a storm, here are some safety tips:
1. Don't go to water
2. Don't go into an open field
3. Don't hide under a tree
4. The safest place to be is indoors.
5. You should stay calm and don't panic.
6. Get games and your stuffed animals.
7. You will need a flashlight and batteries or candles and a lighter.
8. Get a radio that runs on batteries and you can listen to what the weather is like.

Clouds:
There are several types of clouds in the United States.
One is the Stratus. It's a big blanket in the sky that makes rain fall.
Another one is cumulus. It means good weather. They are white puffy clouds.
Another one is cirrus. They are the high whistly clouds. They mean bad weather is coming.
Another one is Nimbus. They make rain fall too like stratus clouds.

My favorite type of weather is SUNNY! I am scared of thunderstorms because they have big booms and lightning flashes. I feel safe in my house with my mommy & daddy. Sometimes we go to the basement when there is a tornado. Or you could go to a place called a storm cellar.

That's all folks.

Brennan's Brain Malfunction

Sometimes I have a malfunction with my brain. When that happens I don't concentrate. When I do that, I can't do anything with my brain because I have to take pills to make my brain be calm. When I take the pills, they just go away and dissolve. My brain is bigger than the pills. I use my imagination several times when I am working at school. I can't concentrate when I am using my imagination. I can concentrate when there is no school. My teacher wants me to concentrate and pay attention but nothing works. When I do concentrate though, I can do anything because the brain molecules are scrambled when I do my work. When I am not at school my brain molecules go back where they belong. My brain is not really smart when I have school.

Is Pluto A Planet?

I went to school and my teacher told us about the planets. She said that there were 8 planets. But I knew there were 9 planets. She was leaving out Pluto!! I knew that Pluto was a planet so I told my teacher that there were 9 planets. But my teacher said Pluto isn't a planet anymore. So we had an argument and I said I would blast you into space for a mission to Pluto so that you would know whether Pluto was a planet or not. So they blasted my teacher into space on a rocket. Then she went all the way around the Solar System then she saw Pluto waaaaaay far behind Neptune. Then she saw that Pluto was still there. When she came back down to Earth, I asked her, "Did you see that Pluto was still a planet?" She said "Yes! I was wrong, Pluto is still there!" I said "Do you take all that back about Pluto not being a planet?" She said "YES!"

Train Goes Boom Down The Line

Trains goes boom by pulling a big load of oil tankers to the gasoline station at San Francisco. That's where the Golden Gate Bridge is. Train has a leaky tanker at the front of his tanker. Oil leaks to the fueling gague that makes it go boom. The people actually run to the disaster and try to help the fire department to put it out and stop the fire from spreading.
